I’ve always perceived that the controversial 10th becomes less if you commit to giving something in all the parts of your life! My father dedicates 60-90 min daily to pray and read Gods written word. While I’m driving, bathing, gardening etc I acknowledge God and listen for the soft prompts He puts in my life… sometimes I really hear Him!!!!

The rules of what to eat and not has always been a stumbling block for me especially sea food!
I often recite Paul who said it’s not what you put in your mouth but what comes out of your mouth that defiles you!

I guess when I first started my walk in God I may have had a type of feeling of abandonment. But even before God took my hand was made aware “ if things aren’t going the way you want you may not be going the way God wants.”

1 if we try to do things under our own strengths , inevitably we fail!
2. As we make decisions, wven when they are not correct , if we remain faithful to God HE will always work it out for our good!!!
The bigger the bad choice the bigger the glory to God AS LONG AS WE REMAIN FAITHFUL TO HIM!!

I am convinced that Romans 8 was specifically written to save my life!!!
Through out my life there had been glorious sunrises and sadly too many times the taste of mud I wallowed in. But when I read Paul’s letter and truly understood deep down on that level that God has for each of us to receive Him intimately EVERYTHING changed!!! GOD SPOKE TO ME!!!

Sacrifice has always been somewhat confusing to apply and to show. I have read so many times where God rejects ( because of the persons attitude).
So it’s not or never has been about a value… it’s more like just the best you have… whether monitory, prayer, service …didn't Paul write that our giving should be with joy!!! And if you feel guilty about not giving enough or puffed up about how much you can give, is it really your best?

I’ve so often thought that our creator made us in His image therefore if He can speak life into existence then we have that ability! Yet too often we speak curse and death! How deep does it go though? I’ve had thoughts which I would never speak so could the thought itself be blaspheming?Marco Everett
Regarding "If He can speak life into existence then we have that ability", how does one arrive at that conclusion? It would seem to be a leap to say that, because we are made in God's image, therefore we have all the capabilities that He has - including creation itself. What is the Scriptural support for that view?

I must say this takes training! And so many lessons to be argued… why was the second man late? , comes to mind!
My other comment would be on the intense of the comments in the scriptures of today’s devotionals. If I say a truth that a leader is acting like a fool… a leader is acting evil or being evil or if I even say he is evil…. Is that a blaspheme? Are truthful words wrong ? If I were to publicly say I saw this governor or police or teacher do “ a thing” and I didn’t that lie
is blasphemous yes?

The message about the 2 thieves crucified with Christ has always reminded me to be aware of what we asked God … we are promised the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and Jesus himself said if we ask anything is His name…I guess the thing is when we petition God we kinda expect our answer not always Gods answer… I would have loved to have another day with my mother …week, year yet God in His infinite wisdom has a better answer!!!!

These words are so hard to wrap our heads around! And one reason I think is how we treat God! Does He occupy all of our activities ? Are perceiving that He guides us? That He hears us? Or is He nicely presented on our living room mantle and we only take Him out for special occasions? He is God of creation and all life. We should be in awe! We should “be still and see that He is God.”

Without cheating and studying to answer I do remember in my young teen years in the Jewish Neighborhood I was growing up in that makeshift lodging were made on roof tops and patios and the families would have pretty joyous
celebrations of the Hebrew trip for 7 days where special foods, prayers, activities were done…

There should be respect between all human beings. I know God respects me. It is my honor, privilege and goal to do the best i can to respect God.Beginning with our study of the Book of Revelation I am learning what it means to truly focus on Jesus. A difficult passage, this insight is a reminder to continue in this retraining of my brain.

If there is anything that I need to know I will hear about it somehow. For example: The morning of 9/11 my windows were open and a construction worker had his “boombox” blaring across the street when the newsinterrupted the music saying a plane had crashed into one of the Twin Towers. I learned more when I went to my exercise class.
