How long at Horeb?
How many wanted to go but God hadn’t told them to go yet…
Makes us remember we should celebrate Christmas EVERYDAY!!!
Though it’s difficult I have tried to teach my kids and do my life trying to only obey God. The problem is when the world is so much louder than God!!!
I support this meditation with the promise “… nothing shall separate us from the love of God.,.”
Absolutely has happened!
Do you know how much practice is out into professional sports, professional music?
YEARS!!!! And after all that practice the amount of confidence is evident in the ability!!!
Absolutely on the commanded day of rest! I would just add that we can bring down the blessing of sabbath daily and we should!!
The historical indoctrination humanity has received falls away when we allow God to speak to us with His word!!!
I love the slogan that God does not call the perfect but He perfects the called!!!
“ nothing shall separate us from Gods love THAT is in Jesus!!!!”
I’ve always perceived that the controversial 10th becomes less if you commit to giving something in all the parts of your life! My father dedicates 60-90 min daily to pray and read Gods written word. While I’m driving, bathing, gardening etc I acknowledge God and listen for the soft prompts He puts in my life… sometimes I really hear Him!!!!
The rules of what to eat and not has always been a stumbling block for me especially sea food!
I often recite Paul who said it’s not what you put in your mouth but what comes out of your mouth that defiles you!
I still pray to have more obedience to these Old Testament laws!!!
I guess when I first started my walk in God I may have had a type of feeling of abandonment. But even before God took my hand was made aware “ if things aren’t going the way you want you may not be going the way God wants.”
I’ve learned it’s ALL about God! And therefore it’s all successful.
Again this biblical story only reinforces 2 great lessons!
1 if we try to do things under our own strengths , inevitably we fail!
2. As we make decisions, wven when they are not correct , if we remain faithful to God HE will always work it out for our good!!!
The bigger the bad choice the bigger the glory to God AS LONG AS WE REMAIN FAITHFUL TO HIM!!
Search and you will find me if you search with your whole heart
Wow Good analogy…
Kinda like “ show me who you hang out with and I tell you who you are…”
But what about Tevye’s IF I WERE A RICH MAN? LOLOLOL
Wow, that is a very powerful question! One to ponder on, every day.
Do we have to love everybody that we are “supposed to love”?
I love God, and He knows it!
But the humans in our lives, I can’t love everybody, is that even possible?
Not only in the end but in my daily life, Jesus is the prize. In troubling days I find myself running faster towards God. I have to stay the course even if and when the days get easier. May God keep us all healthy and put love into the hardened hearts of my haters.
God knew the hectic schedules that would develop over time. My grandmother told me “ keep the sabbath! Keep it everyday! What is Gods purpose for sabbath and what has it become?
I’ve wondered does God the have pleasure if we have a sabbath attitude EVERYDAY?!!!!
I am convinced that Romans 8 was specifically written to save my life!!!
Through out my life there had been glorious sunrises and sadly too many times the taste of mud I wallowed in. But when I read Paul’s letter and truly understood deep down on that level that God has for each of us to receive Him intimately EVERYTHING changed!!! GOD SPOKE TO ME!!!
I too like so many always have a plan B!!
But usually because my plan A wasn’t that good a plan!
I enjoy that Gods plan B will become His plan A!!!
Sacrifice has always been somewhat confusing to apply and to show. I have read so many times where God rejects ( because of the persons attitude).
So it’s not or never has been about a value… it’s more like just the best you have… whether monitory, prayer, service …didn't Paul write that our giving should be with joy!!! And if you feel guilty about not giving enough or puffed up about how much you can give, is it really your best?
I perceive God is also working on our enemies who he also created!
It’s interesting! I have always tried to rationalize God covering Moses face and made him turn his back till God passed by him…
10.15.2021I have faith that I can work towards not being so sinful.
I am also glad to know that God, even in my sinful ways, loves me and wants to be a part of my life.
They were already taken out of Egypt by Gods will.
And then they sinned?
So God rescues us from bondage and even while we aren't “getting it” He is preparing us and cleaning us and “purifying” us so we can dwell together?
I have always compared faith to a muscle… the more you use it the bigger/stronger it gets.
My problem I guess is when I see my “muscle” in the mirror and it does like big enough ! Lol
Sometimes I feel like I lack faith because of my anxieties and worries. I will pray more when I find myself in those situations. I have faith in Gods blessings upon me.
Certain words have translations that are irrefutably “All” “YOU”&I love this word too NOTHING!!!
I have seen faith” muscles” work again and again in my life! And this “muscle” like the body’s must be used to maintain strength!
10.03.2021I’ve so often thought that our creator made us in His image therefore if He can speak life into existence then we have that ability! Yet too often we speak curse and death! How deep does it go though? I’ve had thoughts which I would never speak so could the thought itself be blaspheming?
Regarding "If He can speak life into existence then we have that ability", how does one arrive at that conclusion? It would seem to be a leap to say that, because we are made in God's image, therefore we have all the capabilities that He has - including creation itself. What is the Scriptural support for that view?
We are created in “ His image”…. Jesus said “ and greater things than these ahall you do in my name” James writes “… the power of life and death are in your tongue”…. Jesus taught…”and Speak”… to the mountain…
I must say this takes training! And so many lessons to be argued… why was the second man late? , comes to mind!
My other comment would be on the intense of the comments in the scriptures of today’s devotionals. If I say a truth that a leader is acting like a fool… a leader is acting evil or being evil or if I even say he is evil…. Is that a blaspheme? Are truthful words wrong ? If I were to publicly say I saw this governor or police or teacher do “ a thing” and I didn’t that lie
is blasphemous yes?
Jesus not only gave us forgiveness but forgave us in such a way that not even Satan could call it injustice.
The message about the 2 thieves crucified with Christ has always reminded me to be aware of what we asked God … we are promised the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and Jesus himself said if we ask anything is His name…I guess the thing is when we petition God we kinda expect our answer not always Gods answer… I would have loved to have another day with my mother …week, year yet God in His infinite wisdom has a better answer!!!!
These words are so hard to wrap our heads around! And one reason I think is how we treat God! Does He occupy all of our activities ? Are perceiving that He guides us? That He hears us? Or is He nicely presented on our living room mantle and we only take Him out for special occasions? He is God of creation and all life. We should be in awe! We should “be still and see that He is God.”
I feel so blessed to know that God is in me, and even more blessed to see God working through the people in my life. Thank you Jerry for putting all these great devotionals out there every day, I appreciate it.
Another thing occurred to me… you do not have to go to a specific place or there is no specific construction to worship God! HE WILL COME TO YOU WHERE YOU WORSHIP HIM!!!
09.21.2021After reading this I feel like I should have read it earlier in the day. It’s very heavy, I guess I mean heavy in a way that it is very thought provoking and a deeper study needs to be done on my part.
Thank you again for pushing me deeper into scripture.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I will now have something else to help me sit back, reflect, and look at. This will encourage me to take the time to be still with God.
Without cheating and studying to answer I do remember in my young teen years in the Jewish Neighborhood I was growing up in that makeshift lodging were made on roof tops and patios and the families would have pretty joyous
celebrations of the Hebrew trip for 7 days where special foods, prayers, activities were done…
Lydia’s first word after dada was Hallelujah!!
She loved music and would listen to a song that repeated this word over and over in the chorus. Praise Yahweh in all the ways he comes through to reach our hearts
I enjoy the popular meme that says “ If you want to judge me because of my past you should know I DONT live there any more!
We will always be surrounded by persons drawn to the Light God has put in us. Some will want to warm themselves, some share the light yet others will want to extinguish that light! AND so worry is inbred even if God commands
it daily not to, it still takes tears and years not to worry.
I welcome anybody to intervene and get in the way of my sins. Staying on the path can only be done through Jesus. Amen
09.10.2021It’s not easy yet there should be almost a pride of accomplishment!
Back in psalms we were taught “ in the valley of the shadow of death” And HE leads us THROUGH!!!
We have always been advised that we will be challenged. We will have valleys, we will have seasons! But with God we learn perseverance! We already have HIS success!
Fix your eyes on Jesus! Fill your ears with his word! Focus on Gods perfect plan!!!
God is in control, at all times. Thank you for the reminder
It is encouraging to know that in "all things" - even difficult things, troubling things, frustrating things, or bad things - God is working for good. Help me O Lord to always see the good you are working toward!
I pray daily regarding various things.
God, be present and at the front of my everyday life so I keep my eyes on YOU always. Amen
It is in my daily hopes, and prayers, that the trumpet will sound for the coming of our awesome Lord. Thank you for today’s devotional.
Happy Sunday, Have a peaceful day.

I think the answer to all of today's devotional questions would be a resounding YES!!!
My dad doesn't speak to me out of stubbornness and the need to be the King. There is only one King in my life and that is my Lord and Savior. Thank you for today's devotional.

The 3 are made one flesh… isn’t the respect also respecting yourself?
----------------------------There should be respect between all human beings. I know God respects me. It is my honor, privilege and goal to do the best i can to respect God.
Beginning with our study of the Book of Revelation I am learning what it means to truly focus on Jesus. A difficult passage, this insight is a reminder to continue in this retraining of my brain.
Passing it along!
P.S. A challenge for the husbands!!!
09.02.2021If there is anything that I need to know I will hear about it somehow. For example: The morning of 9/11 my windows were open and a construction worker had his “boombox” blaring across the street when the news
interrupted the music saying a plane had crashed into one of the Twin Towers. I learned more when I went to my exercise class.
Great devotional. We all struggle with the "noises" of the world and being "quiet" so we can hear the "still, small voice" of the Lord.
Today's devotional was very enlightening. I just always assumed i knew of my sins but now i'm wondering what i do that I'm not aware of. Food for thought.

This occurrence has perplexed me. I’ve tried to put myself in their place… so if I had witnessed so many miracles why would I have doubted? If I were an accomplished fisherman why would I have doubted? Or once we have Jesus we just become lazy?
We cannot be reminded too often of God’s willingness to heal; physically, spiritually, emotionally. Thanks

Of course we understand but sometimes we just don’t comply and that’s the rub!
08.24.2021Charles Spurgeon wrote, "The greatest enemy to human souls is the self-righteous spirit which makes men look to themselves for salvation."
Praising God that His son, our Lord Jesus has blessed us with His righteousness. This devotional brings me great joy knowing that God sees the righteousness of Christ when he looks upon me and the entire bride of Christ!
08.23.2021In my brain I understand and praise that God through Grace because of Jesus washes us clean and our sins are forgotten… why though do we continuously remind ourselves how deep a sinner we were and why do we want to see others stumble again into sin…. At least in our flesh we want to see this?
Love the devotional about truth.
